Hi, we are Helen and Juan, husband and wife & owners of Licandro Weddings
​Choosing your wedding planner is one of the most important decisions to make and a huge part of working with your planner is trust.​ You need them to be your eyes & ears, deal with everything appropriately and believe in their judgement & skills.

A big part of trusting someone is getting to know them. So we hope this page gives you a little insight into who we are.

Originally from Uruguay, my passion for photography started when I moved to Spain, where I became involved with surf lifestyle and trying to capture the magic of it on film. Surfing is still a big passion of mine.
When I moved to London I turned my focus towards fashion photography, working in this industry for five years photographing for international modelling agencies including BAME, PRM, and BMA specializing in model's portfolio work and commercial photography.
I picked up an interest for couple's photography and soon realised that this is where my heart truly is. Moving back to Tenerife and creating Licandro Weddings I decided to focus one hundred percent on this side of my work.
WHY WE CREATED LICANDRO WEDDINGS
​​Tenerife is our home and living on an island with so much natural beauty, amazing venues and incredible suppliers we wanted to show people what is available here in the Canary Islands.

We combined our backgrounds in event planning & photography to create our company because we saw a gap in the market for couples seeking something beautiful, but unique.
​
Being a husband & wife duo is the perfect combo for the job. We have experienced the planning process ourselves and understand the emotions involved when organising the biggest party of your lives!

​ We have a real passion for what we do and really care about our couples. We have worked tirelessly to build the reputation that we have and pride ourselves on our professionalism, attention to detail and love that we pour into every occasion that we plan.

A little about us outside of work
​​
Our love story started in Tenerife (in a nightclub, nothing too romantic!) We married in 2016 in London and again in 2017 in Tenerife and welcomed our son in 2021, who is a wild little combination of the two of us.
​​
Licandro is our surname. Top tip for foreigners in Tenerife, it is not customary to change your name after marriage. We have been asked more than once if we are siblings!
​
​We are bilingual and at home we speak Spanglish, whoever starts the conversation picks the language!

Helen: Wedding & Event Planner and stylist
I´m a born & bred Londoner and love the big city but I'm much more suited to Island living which is why Tenerife became my adopted home.
Whilst living in London I founded my own entertainment company supplying acts for companies including Peugeot, Cannon, MAC, Alton Towers, Selfridges, Levi's & esteemed events including the Cannes Film festival, as well as for weddings, luxury events & children’s parties. This path led me to organising events full time, all the details from venue sourcing, styling and on the day management.

I am a super emotional soul and I may cry at your wedding
My career actually started as a professional dancer performing for artists including Phil Collins & Stevie Wonder and on TV shows including X-Factor. Stuck on those first dance moves? Just ask me - Don´t ask Juan!​

I’m a super positive person & very much the “calm in a storm”, meticulous when it comes to planning, but in life I don´t take myself too seriously, a fab problem solver & someone who can think quickly on their feet.
The result when working with me is the day you dreamed off in the hands of someone who cares about it as much as you do.

Fun facts about me:
I left South America for Europe at seventeen and have lived in London, Madrid, Valencia & various islands in the Canaries
Growing up I had a pet monkey, tiger, llama and anteater amongst other animals!
I used to be a knight on a horse in a medieval show.
I have ridiculous sized feet and cannot buy shoes anywhere.
I get called Aquaman at least once at every wedding I photograph.
Things I love:
Good food. I will join you on your wedding menu tasting!
All things British (including my wife of course) I love a roast dinner, a cup of tea & biscuits & only fools and horses
West Ham, you cannot be married to a Londoner without adopting their team.
So what do I do for you?
I feel super lucky to be allowed to document one of the most important days of someone's life. Your proposal, wedding, elopement or renewal of vows I really love witnessing these special occasions
I get to capture these once in a lifetime moments, tell a couple´s story, document their love and bring it to life in front of the camera. Pretty awesome right!
I'm a super easy going and a non intrusive photographer. My goal is that you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. I want you to get caught up living in the moment, leaving me to snap all the details and emotions. I'm all about the candid shots & taking those photos when you didn't even notice I was there.
No uncomfortable poses and definitely nothing cheesy!
